6 people were stabbed to death in Canada

International Desk: Six people have been stabbed to death in the North American country of Canada. Among the dead are four young children and their mother. BBC reported this news in a report on Thursday local time. According to the report, six of the dead, including four children, are Sri Lankan nationals who arrived in Canada a few days ago. The youngest child among the dead is a three-month-old baby girl. A 19-year-old student was arrested by the police in this incident. He lived with that family. His name is Fabrio de Joysa.

At 10.52pm local time on Wednesday, police went to the house in Barrhaven and found the bodies of six people. The deceased are 35-year-old Darshani Banbaranaike and her four children. Another deceased known to the Sri Lankan family is 40-year-old Amarakunmubiansela Gay Gamini Amarakun. The father of the dead children was admitted to an Ottawa hospital with injuries. Police said his life is not in danger. The Sri Lankan High Commission in Ottawa has confirmed that the family is from Sri Lanka. No more information has been given from the High Commission. The Ottawa police chief said sharp weapons were used in the murder. He also commented that this is the biggest murder case in the history of Ottawa. The incident of this murder is painful and its investigation is a complicated process. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed grief over the incident and called the incident a terrible and tragic murder.
