International Desk: A huge fire has occurred in a multi-storey residential building. It happened in the city of Valencia, Spain. At least four people were killed. At least 14 people including children were injured. Six firemen were among the injured. This information was reported by the British media BBC in a report on Friday, citing the emergency services. At least four people have been killed in a massive fire in a high-rise apartment block in the Spanish city of Valencia, emergency services have reported.

This terrible fire engulfed a 14-storey residential building in Campner area of the city and at one point the fire spread to a neighboring building. Firefighters were seen rescuing people from the balcony of the residential building after the crash, the BBC said, and local media said others may still be trapped inside. At least 14 people, including six firefighters and a child, were injured. The fire is still burning and has not been brought under control. More than 20 fire crews are working to put out the blaze and people have been urged to stay away from the area. The fire-ravaged building has 138 flats and was home to 450 residents, newspaper El Pais quoted the building's manager as saying. Firefighters used cranes to rescue several residents, including a couple on the seventh floor, according to local reports. A woman told TVE she saw firefighters trying to rescue a teenage boy trapped on the first floor of the building. Meanwhile, the rapid spread of the fire has raised questions about the materials used in building construction in Spain. Esther Puchades, vice president of Valencia's College of Industrial Technical Engineers, told Spanish news agency EFE that she had visited the building earlier.

He claims that the exterior contains polyurethane material, which is no longer widely used due to concerns over its flammable properties. A person living on the second floor of the building told TV channel La Sexta that the fire spread quickly after the fire broke out. He said, the fire spread within 10 minutes. He also said that the fire could have spread due to the material in the front of the building. David Higuera, an engineer, told El Pais that the building's cladding could cause the fire to spread quickly. Aluminum plates with foam insulators as the outer layer of the building are "very good at resisting heat and cold, but they are very flammable," he said. Meanwhile, RTV reported that a field hospital has been set up in the area in the wake of the fire. Authorities said that people displaced from their homes due to the fire will be accommodated in hotels.
