7-day long We Hatbazar fair started at Bogra Police Plaza

Bogra, Correspondent: We Hatbazar Mela-2023 has started at Bogra Police Plaza with the display of brightly colored and handcrafted clothes and home-made food by entrepreneurs. Organized by Women and E-Commerce (WE) and with the cooperation of the district police, 27 stalls of different products of entrepreneurs have taken place in this 7-day fair.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Snigdh Akhtar PPM and Bogra Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Masudur Rahman Milon officially inaugurated this exceptional fair on the 2nd floor of Bogra Police Plaza on Friday morning by cutting the ribbon and cake. Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Abdur Rashid and Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) Motahar Hossain and prominent businessman Bappi Bhandari were present as special guests in the inaugural function conducted by We's Bogra District Representative Homayra Luba.

The speakers said that women are playing an equal role in the development of financial infrastructure in the family and society in the present time in Bangladesh as well as in the developed world. Women today are not just housework, they have opened up ways of income using various online platforms at home and are also working for economic emancipation along with their husbands and children, which is contributing to the overall economy of the country. However, they urged the concerned to come forward to see if loans can be arranged on easy terms for them as entrepreneurs and more visible steps can be taken to advance the entrepreneurs. On October 25, 2017, Nasima Akhtar Nisa started this journey of online page We, which currently has around 14 lakh members worldwide. Among them there are more than 300 Bogra entrepreneurs. 

Talking to some entrepreneurs about organizing such a fair at Police Plaza, they said that they basically started the journey with an empty pocket and are promoting their business by using various online platforms. The fair always plays a positive role in promoting and increasing their acceptance. 

The fair is festooned with various stalls, from hand-crafted Punjabis, women's thrips, dresses, nakshi kanthas, pillow cushion-covers, organic oils and essential products, working jewelery to decorative accessories of various prices and quality and various Delicious food where you can see the traditional food of rural Bengal lost in the evolution of time which will catch the eye of anyone. The fair, which started from Friday, will continue from 10 am to 9 pm every day till next week.
