Bogra Correspondent: Four disabled youths got married in a grand ceremony at Sherpur in Bogra. The wedding was organized by Kader Sufia Autistic and Handicapped School run by Sherpur Overall Development Organization on Wednesday afternoon. This marriage without dowry has caught the attention of many. Therefore, at least 400 people from various classes and professions participated in this wedding. Mizanur Rahman, a 25-year-old speech and hearing impaired man dressed as a groom and wearing a cap, came to the wedding ceremony at Ghoshpara School in the city with 100 groomsmen. There, 18-year-old speech-impaired Sathi Akhtar was already sitting on the makeshift reception stage with a tikki on his head. Following all the formalities, they got married. 50 thousand 500 Tk. Mizanur Rahman's house is in Chakpathalia village of Garidah union of upazila. Father's name is Abdul Mannan. He is speech and hearing impaired since birth. Worked in agriculture by profession. The bride is the daughter of Abdus Salam of Purghosh Para area of ​​Akhtar city. He is a former student of Kader Sufia Handicapped School. Also learned tailoring. Sathi is speech impaired since birth. Another disabled couple got married on that stage. The groom is 24-year-old Shaheen Alam and the bride is 18-year-old Seema Khatun. Both of them are speech and mental retarded from birth. Shaheen Alam's house is in Gopalpur village of Khanpur union of upazila. Father's name is Rostam Ali. Shaheen can do agricultural work well along with household chores. The bride is the daughter of Chan Mia of Khandkar Para village of Seema Khatun town. He was also a student of Kader Sufia Handicapped School. Also learned tailoring. A dowry of 1 lakh taka was fixed for their marriage. The bride and groom bowed their heads and agreed to the marriage even though they were speech-hearing and mentally disabled. Deputy Director of Social Services Department Bogra Kawshar Ahmed, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Moinul Islam, Upazila Social Services Officer Obaidul Haque, former Bangladesh Bank official Abdur Rauf, Sherpur Agrani Bank Manager Abdus Sabur, Sherpur Press Club General Secretary Abdul Mannan, Jatiya Dainik Kaler Kanthar Sherpur were present at this exceptional wedding ceremony. Representative Ayub Ali, Sherpur Kader Sufia Autistic and Handicapped School founder Umm Sufia Beauty and guests from various professions were present. Umm Sufia Beauty, the founder of the disabled school, said that four disabled youths were married without dowry. All the expenses of this wedding, including the entertainment of the groom and the guests, are borne by his school. Also all the furniture of their new family has been given. On the occasion, Deputy Director of Social Services Department, Bogra, Kawshar Ahmed said that this initiative is commendable and said that disabled people are seen as a burden to the society. In fact they are not a burden. If they can be properly developed, they are also the wealth of the country. And today's event is an inspiration for everyone.
