An unnatural death case was filed in connection with the launch fire

News Desk: A case of unnatural death has been registered in the incident of fire in Abhiyan-10 launch in Sugandha river. A local village police filed the case with Jhalokati Sadar Police Station.

The launch, bound for Betagir in Barguna from Dhaka's Sadarghat, suddenly caught fire in the middle of the Sugandha river in Jhalokati. Many survivors of the launch think that the fire started from the engine room of the launch. Many jumped into the water to save their lives after a launch caught fire in the middle of the river. At least 41 people were killed in the blaze. A six-member investigation committee has been formed from the Ministry of Shipping in the fire incident.

Meanwhile, the bodies of 26 unidentified persons have been buried in the mass grave and the bodies of 10 identified persons have been handed over to their relatives.

Village police Jahangir Hossain filed a case of unnatural death at Jhalokati Sadar Police Station in connection with the fire at Abhiyan-10 launch. Officer-in-charge of Jhalokati Sadar Police Station Khalilur Rahman said that village police Jahangir Hossain has filed a case of unnatural death as a plaintiff. Several high-level investigation teams are also working on the fire. Further action will be taken subject to their investigation report.
