ATU arrests one yaba smuggler with 91,085 pieces of yaba and jeep

News Desk: A team of Anti Terrorism Unit (ATU) on the basis of its own intelligence information conducted a search operation at Bara Bazar traffic intersection under Sadar Police Station in Nilphamari District on the night of December 24 while smuggling intelligence from a cylinder of a Toyota Jeep 91. Arrested a drug dealer with 075 pieces of yaba.

Name of the arrested drug dealer - Imran Hossain (42), father - deceased Rafiq Uddin. During the arrest, 91,075 pieces of yaba, a vehicle used for drug trafficking and Rs 8,200 were seized from him. This is one of the largest shipments of yaba seized from the northern part of the country in recent times.

Arrested Imran Hossain went to collect yaba from Jewel (30) of Jubayer area of ​​Sabrang area under Teknaf police station in Cox's Bazar district on December 21. Jewel of Jobay Teknaf Police identified drug lord of Sabrang area. He has a wide network of yaba smuggling in different districts of North Bengal including Nilphamari district through Narayanganj Dhaka.

Md. Bipul (38) of Fulbari area under Sadar police station of Bogra district, father Haider Ali and Sujan (35) of Sadar police station of Nilphamari district are involved in smuggling yaba in northern districts of the country including Bogra.

Imran Hossain, who was arrested on their orders, used to bring yaba consignment from Jubayer Jewel in Cox's Bazar and supply it to them. He left Cox's Bazar on December 24 with the consignment. The drug lord Jubayer Jewel packs yaba inside the car's gas cylinder in a fancy way.

The arrested Imran has already delivered several yaba consignments to Sujan and Bipul in Bogra and Nilphamari via Teknaf-Chittagong-Gazipur-Sirajganj. They had been smuggling yaba from Teknaf to Nilphamari, Bogra and northern districts for a long time with the help of 4 people and a few others.

This cycle has long played an active role in the yaba consumption and destruction of youth in the north.

The anti-terrorism unit's intelligence surveillance caught the activities of the drug trafficking ring north of Teknaf. The operation was carried out by the Anti-Terrorism Unit as part of the government's 'Zero Tolerance Policy' against drugs and militancy. Nilphamari Sadar police assisted the anti-terrorism unit in the operation.
