News Desk: The government has not closed any channel, the sky of Bangladesh is open, said the Minister of Information and Broadcasting. Hasan Mahmud. He told reporters at his office in the Secretariat on Sunday (October 3) at noon.

The information minister said that any channel can broadcast here, but it has to abide by the laws of the country. According to the law, any foreign channel in Bangladesh has to broadcast without advertisement. The channels broadcast in accordance with the law in all countries. Only in our country the law was being thumbed up year after year.

On law enforcement, he said, “We sat down with everyone concerned two years ago. Several times Tagada has been given, notice has been given. At the beginning of last month, it was decided to sit with them for the second time and implement the law from October 1.

He added that some are saying to keep the law relaxed until it is digitized. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka have not been fully digitized. There are laws in force. There is no reason to make such excuses in our country.

Expressing gratitude to the distributor-operators for complying with the law, the minister said, "We applaud the government for not getting cleanfeed (ad-free) and for not following the instructions of the government." They were given time in advance to tell the concerned channels to send the cleanfeed and they also prepared. Given enough time, given two years time. I started talking to them two years ago. I have taken initiative to implement this law before.

Regarding the closure of channels on Cleanfeed, the minister said that 18 channels including BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, France TV, Russian TV, Euro TV, Animal Plantet come to Cleanfeed. They are not running them either. Which simply violates the terms of the operator's license. So if anyone breaks the condition, he will be charged with the crime of breaking the condition. Channels that do not send Cleanfeed have agents. This is the responsibility of the respective channels and agents. This is not just the responsibility of the operators. But some cable operators bypass the agents and downlink them directly from the satellite. But they can't do that. This is illegal.
