Raid on drug market in Chittagong, four shopkeepers fined Tk 280,000

News Desk: The mobile court of the district administration has raided several markets in Hazari Gali, the largest drug market in Chittagong city. Four shopkeepers have been fined a total of Tk 280,000 for various irregularities.

The operation was conducted on Tuesday (April 13) morning by the Executive Magistrate of the district administration Ashraful Hasan. According to the district administration, New Drug House was fined Tk 100,000, M Medico Tk 60,000, Gopal Medical Hall Tk 60,000 and Prabhati Drug House Tk 40,000 for various irregularities in today's (Tuesday) operation.

Executive Magistrate Ashraful Hasan, who led the operation, said, "As part of the district administration's regular operation, several drug stores in Hazari Lane in the city have been raided today." At the time, some stores were fined for selling drugs that were banned from sale, unauthorized foreigners, drugs that were officially distributed free of charge, including harmful tonics.
