Journalists don't need 'movement pass': IGP

However, the journalists do not have to take the pass, said the Inspector General of Police (IGP). Benazir Ahmed. He made the remarks while inaugurating the 'Movement Pass' at Rajarbagh Police Line at noon on Tuesday (April 13).

The IGP said the Bangladesh Police has arranged movement passes for those who need to go out privately. In order to travel from one place to another, an official or urgent need to take a 'Movement Pass'. However, in this case, journalists do not have to take this pass. "We don't want to see anyone on or off the road tomorrow (April 14)," he said. I don't want to see anyone unnecessarily. We will fulfill this responsibility on our own initiative rather than under pressure.

If these are not accepted, the whole of Bangladesh will have to be taken in isolation. ' Benazir added, ‘It may take some time to get out. They will take the movement pass. Don't hang out on the street. On different roads, do not hang out at intersections. None of the young people will come out as responsible citizens. If you want to get out, you must return home quickly. ' "The way we controlled last year, we will control the second wave again," he said.

However, the unnecessary movement must be stopped. Millions of people left Dhaka last year. This time he has been leaving Dhaka for the last two days, these are not right. These are morally very unjust acts. He added, "Those who arrived yesterday (April 12) in different ways will stay where they are.

The government will follow the instructions as it says. ' Discouraged about getting the car out, the IGP said, of course, the movement will take a pass. Everyone will cooperate with the police. "The government has taken various steps to ensure that everyone is aware of the situation in Corona," he said.

' Meanwhile, according to the police headquarters, the police will give 'Movement Pass' in 14 classes for moving out of the house in case of emergency.

This ‘Movement Pass’ will be given in the categories of shopping in grocery stores, raw market, pharmaceuticals, medical work, agriculture, transportation and supply of goods, relief distribution, wholesale or retail purchase, tourism, funeral, business, etc. In addition, those who need to move outside but do not match any category will be considered to pass in other categories, the police headquarters said.

How to get a 'Movement Pass':

Anyone can collect the pass for a specified period of time by visiting the website of movementpass.police.gov.bd and providing the required information. However, each pass can be used only once. That means you have to collect separate passes for coming and going.

The concerned authorities informed that after applying for the mentioned link by filling in the name of the person for whom the pass is required, mobile phone number, national identity card or driving license, name of the place you are going to, name of the place from where you are going and reason of departure etc. Will issue a pass with the scanner. By scanning this code, the police officers on duty at the check post will confirm the applicant's information and reason for departure.
