Good news for legal-illegal expatriates in Malaysia

News Desk: Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia has launched an online portal called 'Job Search' to provide easy services to expatriate Bangladeshis living in Malaysia and to find legitimate employers of those who are illegal in the country. Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed MP inaugurated the event at a virtual meeting at 9:30 pm local time on Thursday (April 8).

High Commissioner. In his welcome address, Golam Sarwar gave a brief background on the 'Job Search' platform and suggested its use for the convenience of expatriates. He said the Bangladesh High Commission has set up its own digital platform 'Job Search' to increase connectivity with a large number of expatriate Bangladeshis living in Malaysia. In this endeavor, the technology company Dotlines is working as a technology partner of the High Commission. Expatriates will also be able to easily access a variety of services, including legalization and job application, using this platform. Applicants will be able to avail this service completely free of cost. To take part in the 'job search' process, you need to be connected to the inbox of the verified Facebook page of the Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia.

In his speech, the Minister of State for External Affairs emphasized on the huge contribution of expatriates in the economy of Bangladesh. He also highlighted the various initiatives taken by the present government for the welfare of the expatriates. He also thanked the High Commission for taking such an initiative. Ahmed Munirush Salehin said the 'Job Search' platform is an example of the Prime Minister's commitment to building a 'digital Bangladesh'. He hoped that the timely initiatives of the High Commission would benefit a large number of expatriates. Through this effort, the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur went a step further in building Bangladesh as the first full-fledged digital mission abroad. The High Commission plans to add new services such as mobile telephony, healthcare and remittances in the future.

The event also showcased a visual built on the 'Job Search' platform. Deputy High Commissioner and Minister. Khorshed A Khastgir was present as the chief guest at the inaugural function, Bangladesh's Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmed MP and special guest, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam MP, Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment. Ahmed Muniruch Salehin, Deputy Director General of the Department of Labor in Malaysia.

Asri Abdullah Wahab. Among others present at the virtual event were Mahbubul Matin, President of Dotlines Group, Badrul Hisham Ismail, Head of Workforce Management at Derby Plantation in Sime, Malaysia and Jeslyn Wong.
