Entertainment Desk: Prominent poet and writer Syed Abdul Karim has passed away. He died on Thursday (March 25) at around 8 am. Syed Abdul Karim is the father of actress Opi Karim. He was 65 years old at the time of his death.

Actor Shamim Shahed, who is close to Opi, has confirmed the death of Opi's father to the media. Syed Abdul Karim will be buried at Azimpur Cemetery after Janazah at the local mosque after Johar on Thursday.

Syed Abdul Karim was a life member of Bangla Academy. In addition to basic writing, he has translated many Norwegian children's literature.
