Diplomatic Correspondent: On the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, conveyed a warm congratulatory message on behalf of the Royal Thai Government and the people of Thailand.
In his message, the Prime Minister recognized BIMSTEC as a vital bridge between South and Southeast Asia, noting that for nearly three decades, the organization has transformed regional proximity into a dynamic community grounded in shared purpose and prosperity. Highlighting the current geopolitical and economic challenges, he emphasized the strategic importance of solidarity among member states, describing unity as an imperative for sustainable regional growth.
Referring to the 6th BIMSTEC Summit held in Bangkok last April, Mr. Charnvirakul reaffirmed Thailand's commitment to turning dialogue into concrete outcomes under the BIMSTEC Bangkok Vision 2030. He underscored the importance of collective action to realize a prosperous, resilient, and open BIMSTEC region, benefiting the 1.8 billion people of the member countries.
The Prime Minister also expressed Thailand’s readiness to work closely with the Government of Bangladesh, the current Chair of BIMSTEC, and other member states to advance the common agenda. As the countdown to BIMSTEC's 30th anniversary begins, Thailand reaffirms its unwavering commitment to strengthening regional cooperation for a brighter and more prosperous future.
