Jamalpur Correspondent: Nahid Islam, convener of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has stated that everyone has the right to express protest. He made these remarks on Sunday regarding the BNP’s protest rally in Netrokona, organized in response to comments made by former Home Minister Nasiruddin Patwari. He added that if BNP has any opinions, they are entitled to express them, and constructive criticism is a right anyone can exercise.
Speaking to reporters on Monday (28 July) at 10:30 AM after meeting with the families of the 11 martyrs of the July movement at the district council Dak Bangla, Nahid Islam said that the Election Commission and voter lists should be aligned with the highest standards. However, NCP doubts the signing of the July Accord due to the lack of consensus on this matter. Still, they remain hopeful that the July Accord will be signed before 5 August.
Nahid also accused not only the advisers but also the police and administration of lacking neutrality. He mentioned that once the election process begins after the July Accord, the issues concerning level playing fields and election grounds will be addressed.
On the same day at 11:30 AM, NCP will hold a march from Tamaltola Mor to Foujdari in Jamalpur city, followed by a public meeting.
Among those participating in the march are party convener Nahid Islam, member secretary Akhtar Hossain, senior joint conveners Samanta Sharmin and Ariful Islam Adib, senior joint member secretary Dr. Tansim Zara, Nahida Sarwar Niba, chief organizer (South) Hasnat Abdullah, chief organizer (North) Sarjis Alam, chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, senior chief coordinator Abul Hannan Masud, joint member secretary Lutfur Rahman, and others.
