Justice Khairul Haque Betrayed the Nation: Mirza Fakhrul

News Desk: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has made scathing remarks against former Chief Justice A.B.M. Khairul Haque. Speaking at a meeting held at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Thursday, he said Khairul Haque’s verdict to abolish the caretaker government system amounted to deception and betrayal of the state and the people.

Mirza Fakhrul stated, “Former Chief Justice Khairul Haque has deceived the people. The verdict he gave on the caretaker government issue went against the interest of the nation. Although delayed, we thank the government for arresting him. Now the nation expects a proper investigation.”

He further claimed that Khairul Haque’s ruling led to a crisis in democracy and created political instability in the country.

Describing Khairul Haque as the country’s “greatest enemy,” the BNP leader demanded the highest punishment for him. He also called for justice against all those who have acted against democracy.

Fakhrul added, “All the current crises stem from his verdict. As a result, the people of this country have been deprived of their right to vote and democracy for a long time.”
