Mirza Fakhrul: Sheikh Hasina is a Stain on Humanity, She Can Never Be Forgiven

News Desk: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that Sheikh Hasina is a stain on humanity and cannot be forgiven. He made these remarks on Sunday (July 20) during a tree-planting program jointly organized by the Nationalist Farmers’ Party and the ‘Amra BNP’ family at Zia Udyan in Dhaka as part of the month-long July mass uprising program.

Mirza Fakhrul said, “A mother of a martyr was crying and saying, the boy whom I dreamed of, whom I dreamed as my future, they took him away — took him away in a brutal, horrifying, and savage manner. They shot him, left him wounded, then put him in a van, and without checking if he was alive or dead, they burned him along with six or seven other bodies. Can you imagine? We are citizens of an independent country!”

He added, “We fought a war in ’71 for an independent country. The administration of that country — those responsible for protecting state security, who are paid from the tax money of every one of us — today are killing and burning my son. How cruel, ruthless, and inhumane! That is why Hasina can never be forgiven.”

Mirza Fakhrul further said, “Hasina is a disgrace to humanity. Our first task will be to bring them to justice. The second will be to rehabilitate the families of martyrs. Those who have been injured, lost their eyesight — arrangements must be made to rehabilitate them. Without this, the nation will not accept us in the future. That is why, on behalf of our party, we will raise a fund. From that fund, we will assist these families as much as possible.”

He also said, “As the moral character of people improves, so will the nation. Today’s tree-planting program, to me, is such a program where we see the symbol of an advanced state of mind. Since the whole world is affected by climate problems and Bangladesh is even more affected, the amount of greenery here is insufficient compared to what is needed. Our acting chairman has started a process to green Bangladesh by planting one million trees nationwide.”
