News Desk: The Prime Minister, Tarek Rahman, is going to visit the home of Ramisa Akter, a seven-year-old schoolgirl who was raped and murdered in Pallabi of the capital.
On Thursday night, the Prime Minister will meet with Ramisa’s family in Pallabi.
Sources at the Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the matter to *Jugantor*.
According to the sources, a Cabinet meeting was held in the Cabinet Division’s Public Administration Conference Room at the Secretariat in the evening, chaired by the Prime Minister. After the meeting, the Prime Minister will go to Ramisa’s residence.
Meanwhile, Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman said on Thursday that the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner has been instructed to submit the investigation report into the rape and murder of Ramisa within the next seven days.
Ministry sources said that on Wednesday (20 May), the main accused in the case, Sohel Rana, gave a confessional statement in court admitting to the rape and murder of Ramisa Akter. In addition, necessary measures will be taken to ensure a speedy trial of the case.
