Diplomatic Correspondent: The Ambassador of Rüdiger Lotz paid a special visit to the historic Zia Memorial Museum during his recent tour of Chattogram.
Located at the Old Circuit House, the museum holds deep historical significance as the place where former President Ziaur Rahman spent the final hours of his life in 1981.
Describing the experience as both moving and memorable, Ambassador Lotz reflected on the importance of preserving historical memory and understanding Bangladesh’s rich political history.
Despite the museum being temporarily closed for renovation, the Ambassador and his delegation were warmly received and given the opportunity to visit the premises.
Ambassador Lotz expressed heartfelt appreciation to the museum authorities and staff for their hospitality and for allowing the visit during the ongoing renovation works.
The visit formed part of the German Ambassador’s broader engagements in Chattogram, where he met with local stakeholders and explored sites of historical and institutional importance.
