Diplomatic Correspondent: Russian House in Dhaka successfully concluded its week-long film festival, “Frames of Memory: From Moscow to Bangladesh,” with a powerful and emotionally resonant screening of the acclaimed 1957 Soviet classic The Cranes Are Flying.
Organized in commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of Great Victory Day, the festival brought together a vibrant audience of university students, Russian language learners, cultural enthusiasts, and distinguished guests throughout the week-long celebration of cinema, history, and remembrance.
The closing evening featured the screening of the legendary masterpiece directed by Mikhail Kalatozov, internationally celebrated for its groundbreaking cinematography and profound emotional portrayal of love, sacrifice, and human resilience during wartime. The film’s deeply moving narrative provided a fitting finale to the festival’s journey through history and memory.
