Diplomatic Correspondent: The Ambassador of Rüdiger Lotz paid a special visit to the historic Zia Memorial Museum during his recent tour of Chattogram.

‎Located at the Old Circuit House, the museum holds deep historical significance as the place where former President Ziaur Rahman spent the final hours of his life in 1981.

‎Describing the experience as both moving and memorable, Ambassador Lotz reflected on the importance of preserving historical memory and understanding Bangladesh’s rich political history.

‎Despite the museum being temporarily closed for renovation, the Ambassador and his delegation were warmly received and given the opportunity to visit the premises.
‎
‎Ambassador Lotz expressed heartfelt appreciation to the museum authorities and staff for their hospitality and for allowing the visit during the ongoing renovation works.
‎
‎The visit formed part of the German Ambassador’s broader engagements in Chattogram, where he met with local stakeholders and explored sites of historical and institutional importance.
