By 2:00 PM, 486 incidents of disorder and 59 cases of fake voting reported nationwide

News Desk: In connection with the ongoing 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum 2026, incidents of disorder have been reported at 486 polling centers across the country. There have been 59 cases of fake voting and three incidents of ballot box snatching.

This information was confirmed by the Emergency Coordination Cell of the Ministry of Home Affairs as of 2:00 p.m. on Thursday (February 12).

According to the Coordination Cell, by 2:00 p.m., polling agents had been forcibly removed from 14 locations nationwide. Clashes between supporters of different candidates were reported in 135 places. Disorder occurred at 486 polling centers across the country. Three incidents of ballot box snatching were reported nationwide. Six candidates were assaulted. There were 59 cases of fake voting and 18 incidents of voters being obstructed from casting their ballots. Arson attacks were reported at four locations, and 33 incidents of negligence by election officials were recorded.

Voting is being held at a total of 42,779 polling centers across the country, with 247,482 voting booths set up. A total of 50 political parties are participating in the election. Altogether, 2,028 candidates are contesting—1,755 representing political parties and 273 running as independents. Among them, 83 are female candidates (63 party nominees and 20 independents).

In this parliamentary election and referendum, 127,711,893 voters across 299 constituencies are eligible to exercise their voting rights. Of them, 64,825,361 are male voters, 62,885,200 are female voters, and 1,232 are registered as third-gender voters.

The Election Commission canceled the election in Sherpur-3 following the death of a Jamaat-e-Islami candidate. As a result, voting is being held simultaneously in the remaining 299 parliamentary constituencies.
