News Desk: Religious Adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain has said that society can be transformed if modern education is combined with religious education. Without religion, there is a risk that education may lead people astray.

He made these remarks on Saturday (22 November) at the annual gathering and certificate distribution ceremony of Assunnah Model Madrasa, held at the Well Park Hotel in Chattogram city.

In his speech as the chief guest, the Religious Adviser said that the national parliamentary elections are scheduled for February 2026. The government is working to ensure a fair, free, impartial, and festive election. A widely accepted election will be held. After the winners are declared, responsibilities will be handed over to them.

Commenting that “the old era of ignorance will not return,” he said that to make the country free from corruption, usury, bribery, and extortion, the nation must entrust governance to those who are God-fearing. Those with fear of Allah in their hearts and strong, unwavering character must be elected. Whether in February 2026 or in the distant future, Bangladesh will emerge as an ideal state. For this, young people must step forward.

The Religious Adviser further stated that combining modern education with religious education can transform society. Without religion, education may lead people astray. In all developed countries, places of worship exist within educational institutions. Without integrating religious education with general education, people may engage in immoral activities. Separating religion from education will produce robbers and hooligans.

The event was presided over by Anwarul Islam Azahari, chief advisor and imam of Anderkilla Shahi Jame Mosque, and principal of the madrasa. Speakers included Dr. Mu. Momtaz Uddin Qadri, Professor of Islamic Studies at Chattogram University, Professor Dr. Humayun Kabir Khalvi, Mufti Abul Kalam Al Azad, Chairman of Ummah Foundation, Suhail Saleh, Chairman of Allama Abul Khair Foundation, Sheikh Nasir Uddin, Khatib of Courthill Jame Mosque, and Mufti Masudur Rahman, Director of Assunnah Model Madrasa.

Later, the Adviser handed over certificates to students who passed the annual Hifz exams of Assunnah Model Madrasa in 2025.
