Armed Forces Day celebrated at Bogura Cantonment with various events

Armed Forces Day 2025 was celebrated at the Bogura Cantonment with various programs.

On Friday afternoon, a ceremonial reception was held at the cantonment, where the GOC of the 11th Infantry Division and Bogura Area Commander, Major General Tauhidul Ahmed, NDC, AFWC, PSC, welcomed the freedom fighters and other guests attending the event.

In his welcome speech, Major General Tauhidul Ahmed praised the extraordinary courage, cooperation, and heroic contributions of the people of Bogura during the Liberation War. He paid humble tribute to all the freedom fighters and martyrs of the Bogura region, and thanked the attending freedom fighters, members of martyr families, and invited guests.

He emphasized that, in addition to fulfilling their professional duties, the Armed Forces have always stood alongside the people in times of national crises. He highlighted the military’s contributions in disaster management at the national level, counter-terrorism in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, support to civil administration, and other nation-building activities. He also noted the role of the Armed Forces in UN peacekeeping missions, which enhances Bangladesh’s international reputation.

Besides the freedom fighters, the event was attended by members of martyr families, military and civilian officials, former members of the Armed Forces, and media personnel. The celebration concluded with a special performance by the well-decorated military band to mark Armed Forces Day.
