Bangladesh’s Growth Momentum Accelerates: PMI Rises to 61.8 Points in October

News Desk: The growth momentum of Bangladesh’s economy has accelerated further. In October 2025, the country’s Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose by 2.7 points to reach 61.8.

The report was jointly published on Sunday by the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) Dhaka and Policy Exchange Bangladesh (PEB). The PMI was developed with technical assistance from the Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management (SIPMM) and support from the UK government.

The report highlights rapid expansion across all major sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, construction, and services. Both the agriculture and construction sectors have returned to an expansionary trajectory, contributing to the overall acceleration of economic growth.

The PMI provides timely insights into the pace and health of Bangladesh’s economic activities, serving as a key guide for businesses, investors, and policymakers.
