To enhance the professionalism, skills, and efficiency of police officers for the upcoming parliamentary elections, a special training program will be inaugurated today. On Sunday (7 September) morning, State Advisor for Home Affairs, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, will officially launch the program at the Razarbagh Police Auditorium.
The program aims to train over 150,000 police personnel to ensure a fair and secure national election scheduled for February next year. Bangladesh Police has 130 small and 4 large training centers nationwide, where officers will undergo election-specific training.
From 31 August to 2 September, 150 master trainers were trained at the Police Headquarters in Dhaka according to the designated modules. Plans are underway to prepare 1,292 master trainers or ‘Trainers of Trainers (ToT)’ at 19 police training centers across the country. These trainers will subsequently train over 150,000 police personnel for election duty.
According to police headquarters sources, all trainers will receive practical, scenario-based training to handle potential situations during elections. These initiatives are being implemented to ensure comprehensive security throughout the election period.
