Farmer dies after consuming gas tablet in Ranishankail

Thakurgaon Correspondent: A farmer named Munjur Ali (40) has died after consuming poisonous gas tablets in Ranishankail, Thakurgaon.

The incident took place at his home in Bharnia Mandalpara village of the upazila on Tuesday (May 20) afternoon.

A UD case was filed with Ranishankail police station on Monday night. The deceased Munjur Ali is the son of the deceased Ramzan Ali of Bharnia Mandalpara village of the upazila.

Local and family sources said that farmer Munjur Ali fell ill after consuming poisonous gas tablets in the privacy of his home on Monday afternoon. When the family members came to know about it, they rescued him while he was sick and took him to Ranishankail Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty gave him primary treatment and sent him to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. Later, he died on the way there.

Fardoli Mohammad, brother of the deceased Munjur Ali, said that my brother was suffering from mental stress and anxiety. He believes that Munjur Ali died after consuming poisonous gas tablets due to depression.

Arshedul Haque, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ranishankail Police Station, said that after receiving the information, the police visited the scene. The body is being sent to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. A UD case has been filed at the police station in this regard.
