Miscreants demolished 20 houses of the government Ashrayan project in Rupganj using an excavator

Narayanganj Representative: Miscreants have demolished 20 houses of the government Ashrayan project in Narayanganj's Rupganj Upazila, in the Darikandi area of Murapara Union, using an excavator. This incident occurred on the night of Monday (May 5). Various construction materials for the houses have already been removed.

On Tuesday (May 6) afternoon, the Assistant Commissioner (Land) of the Upazila, Tariqul Islam, and the Rupganj Police visited the site.

Earlier, on the night of February 13, a group of miscreants launched an unexpected attack on the Ashrayan project, threatening the residents and forcing them to leave. They then vandalized 20 houses, damaging doors and windows and looting various items inside.

Despite such a large-scale incident, no suspects have been identified so far. Locals have complained that, due to the lack of a case, the miscreants have become even more reckless.

Assistant Commissioner of Land Tariqul Islam mentioned that the Union Land Officer of Murapara has filed a case at Rupganj Police Station regarding this incident. The case is currently under investigation.
