Locals form human chain in Bogra demanding arrest of BNP leader

Bogra Correspondent:  Locals in Bogra have formed a human chain demanding the arrest and expulsion of Gabtoli Upazila BNP Deputy Office Secretary and Kagail Union BNP Senior Vice President Abu Asad. The human chain, held at Pirgachha Port in Gabtoli at 4 pm on Wednesday, was attended by local BNP workers, Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal leaders.

The speakers in the human chain alleged that Abu Asad is in BNP politics only to get party benefits. After August 5, he has implicated the school's principal, other teachers and local residents in a false case in a dispute over the management committee of the local Daripara Jaher Uddin Adarsh ​​Lower Secondary Girls' School. Rameshwarpur Union Jubo Dal's senior joint convener Swapan Mondal was not left out of his wrath. The human chain alleged that Abu Asad recently held a press conference to politically harass and defame the victim Swapan Mondal using his influence, which is completely false and baseless. Despite being a BNP leader, BNP and its affiliate leaders and activists are not exempt from his harassment and anger, which led to anger from the local Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal leaders. For this reason, the human chain demanded the immediate expulsion of Abu Asad from all BNP posts as well as his arrest. 

Swapan Mondal, Shamsul Alam, Md. Rakib, Md. Hakim, Raihan, and representatives of Pirgachha, Sonaray, Kagail, and Rameshwarpur unions of Gabtoli upazila spoke at the human chain.

Leaders and activists of various levels of Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal who participated in the human chain said, Gabtoli Upazila is the birthplace of BNP founder martyr President Ziaur Rahman. BNP never tolerates extortionists or litigious leaders and activists. It is truly sad that BNP leader Abu Asad is using the party to gain his own benefits and harassing his own party leaders and activists, including the general local people, by filing cases. They demanded immediate expulsion of Abu Asad and exemplary punishment for BNP officials including BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
