Trading continues in the capital market amid rising indices

Economy Desk: On Thursday (March 6), the last working day of the week, trading is underway on the country's main stock market, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), and the other market, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), with indices rising.  

Half an hour after the start of trading on Thursday, i.e. at 10:30 am, the DSE general index DSEX rose 31 points from the previous day to stand at 5,227 points. The DSE Shariah Index and the DSE-30 Index rose 7 points and 9 points to 1,165 and 1,900 points respectively. During this period, shares and mutual fund units worth Tk 597.9 crore were traded.

Of the companies traded at this time on Thursday, the prices of 249 increased, 46 decreased, and 53 remained unchanged.

The top 10 companies traded as of 10:30 am on Thursday were Haqqani Pulp, Orion Infusion, DESCO, National Housing, Indo-Bangla Pharma, Khan Brothers, Sonargaon Textile, Popular Life Insurance, IFIC Bank and Beach Hatchery.

Earlier today, the DSEX rose 14 points in the first 5 minutes of trading. At 10:10 am, the index rose another 5 points from its previous position. After that, the index's momentum was seen to be upward. 20 minutes after the start of trading, i.e. at 10:20 am, the index rose 25 points from the previous day to stand at 5,222 points.

On the other hand, half an hour after the start of trading, i.e. at 10:30 am, the CASPI index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) rose by 1 point to stand at 14,505 points. After that, the index's momentum was seen to be upward.

Shares and mutual fund units worth Tk 1.6 million were traded on the CSE till 10:30 am today. During this period, the prices of 13 companies increased, 12 decreased and the share prices of 7 companies remained unchanged.
