Trading in the capital market continues amid fluctuations in the index

Economy Desk : On Sunday (February 23), the first working day of the week, trading is underway on the country's main stock market, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), and the other market, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), with the indices fluctuating.  

Half an hour after the start of trading on the day, i.e. at 10:30 am, the DSE general index DSEX rose 8 points from the previous day to stand at 5,208 points. The DSE Shariah index and the DSE-30 index rose 1 point and 4 points to 1,163 and 1,914 points respectively. During this period, shares and mutual fund units worth Tk 718.7 million were traded.

Among the companies traded at this time on Sunday, the prices of 185 companies increased, 76 decreased, and 78 remained unchanged.

The top 10 companies in trading as of 10:30 am today were Phuwang Food, BD Thai, BSC, Malek Spinning, Shinepukur Ceramic, Phuwang Ceramic, RD Food, Midland Bank, Agni Systems and Khan Brothers.

Earlier, the DSEX rose 8 points in the first 5 minutes of trading on Sunday. At 10:10 am, the index fell 4 points from its previous position. After that, the index's momentum was seen to be upward. 20 minutes after the start of trading, i.e. at 10:20 am, the index rose 6 points from the previous day to stand at 5,207 points.

On the other hand, half an hour after the start of trading, i.e. at 10:30 am, the CASPI index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange rose by 6 points to stand at 14,503 points. After that, the index's momentum was seen to be upward.

Shares and mutual fund units worth Tk 3.6 million were traded on the CSE till 10:30 am today. During this period, the prices of 29 companies increased, 2 decreased and the share prices of 5 companies remained unchanged.
