Actress Asha's death: Her mother has filed a writ petition seeking crores of Taka in compensation

Entertainment Desk: University student actress Asha's mother has filed a writ petition seeking Rs 1 crore compensation for her death. The writ petition was filed in the concerned branch of the High Court last Sunday.

Justice JBM Hasan and Justice. The writ petition will be presented for hearing next week in the High Court bench comprising Khairul Alam. The writ petitioner's lawyer Anichur Rahman said the writ petition sought directions to form an independent inquiry committee to find out who was responsible for the accident and to pay crores of rupees to Asha's family.

Asha was killed on the spot when she was hit by a truck at the Darussalam technical junction in the capital on January 3 and fell off the road. Shamim Ahmed, a former acquaintance of Asha, was riding a motorcycle that day.

The next day, Asha's father Abu Kalam became the plaintiff and filed a case against the motorcyclist Shamim Ahmed. Police arrested him and took him to court, where he was ordered to be sent to jail. 

The deceased Asha was studying in the sixth semester of the law department of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), a private university. He also worked in a buying house.
