Sports Desk: Finally the rumor came true. Argentina's Mauricio Pachettino has been named the new coach of French club Paris Saint-Germain. Pachettino, 46, will coach Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappe from this season until 2022.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel was sacked on December 24 for failing to qualify for the French League One. Mauricio Pachettino, former manager of Tottenham, Southampton and Espanyol, has been named the new coach. Pachettino was a PSG player for about two and a half seasons from 2000 to 2003. He played 95 matches and won the 2001 Inter Toto Cup. He later joined Spanish club Espanyol. He retired from the club in 2006. Pachettino's coaching career began in 2009 with Espanyol. Later moved to England. There he took charge of Southampton and Tottenham.

He was removed from Tottenham in November last year. This time he will start working on the new mission in the dugout of PSG. PSG are currently third in the points table in the French League One. They are just one point behind the top two teams, Lyon and Lil. However, they have already lost 4 matches. But last season they lost only 3 matches. Pachettino's main challenge now is to turn around and retain the title. Pachettino is going to work from today (Sunday). He will train the team from today for the match against St. Etienne on Wednesday night. "I am really happy and proud to be the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain," said Pachettino, who is in charge of PSG. He added, ‘I am grateful to the club management. They trust me.

This club is always very close to our hearts. I have many sweet memories here. Today I returned to the club with some specific goals. We are looking forward to working with some of the most talented players in the world. "
