Mobile court operation to prevent noise pollution in Kurigram

Kurigram representative: A mobile court was conducted by the initiative of the district administration and environment department to prevent excessive noise pollution from vehicles in Kurigram. In this, 5 vehicle drivers were fined cash, 9 hydraulic horns were seized. The campaign team also distributed noise pollution awareness lifts among the public. This mobile court operation was led by Mr. Russell Deo, Assistant Commissioner of Kurigram District Administration and learned Executive Magistrate. The operation was conducted in Trimohani area of ​​Rangpur to Kurigram highway on Monday (22nd August) afternoon. According to the mobile court sources, the drivers of a total of 5 vehicles including 4 buses and 1 truck have been fined a total of Tk 900 separately for using the horn in excess of the prescribed standard according to the Noise Pollution (Control) Rules, 2006. At this time 09 hydraulic horns producing excessive noise were seized and awareness leaflets about noise pollution were distributed. Md. Rezaul Karim, Assistant Director of Environment Directorate, Kurigram District Office, and members of the police force were present at the time. Assistant Director of Kurigram Environment Department Rezaul Karim said, this is part of regular operation. He said that this type of mobile court will continue to be operated in the future to increase public awareness to control noise pollution.
