Mostafizur Rahman, Lalmonirhat: On Thursday afternoon, the main gate of Patgram Upazila Police Station of Lalmonirhat district was named "Mukti Police Commander OC Kayatullah Akand Gate" and the guest house "Aparajita" at Dahgram Police Investigation Center was auspiciously inaugurated. Commander Kayatullah Akand, OC of Patgram police station during the liberation war, Md. Kayallah Akand, officer-in-charge (OC) of Patgram police station of Rangpur district during the liberation war, now in Lalmonirhat district. He served as the OC of Patgram Police Station from 1969 to 1972. Later, Patgram Police Station and people from all walks of life united and resisted the Pakistani invaders during the liberation war. On April 1, 1971, "Mukti Police" i.e. Bangladesh Police was formed in Mukti Nachal Patgram. When almost all the policemen of Patgram police station joined the liberation war front, the late Abid Ali MP then formed the "Mukti Police" along with the OC of Patgram police station Kayatullah Akand to keep the law and order situation normal in the liberated area of ​​Patgram. Until the last day of the war, these liberated policemen under the leadership of OC Kayatullah Akande of Patgram police station controlled the law and order situation in Patgram with sticks and three not three rifles. Due to the strong leadership of the officer-in-charge of Patgram Police Station, Kayatullah Akand, the Pakistani forces or their ally Razakar Rahini failed to penetrate into Patgram. To commemorate his contribution, the Gate of Patgram Police Station was named "Mukti Police Commander OC Kayatullah Akand Gate". The gate of Patgram police station and guest house of Dahgram police investigation center was auspiciously inaugurated by Lalmonirhat District Superintendent of Police Abida Sultana, (promoted to the post of Additional DIG). Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Md Rabiul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Mohammad Atiqul Haque, Additional Superintendent of Police A-Circle, Marufa Jamal Officer-in-charge of all police stations of Lalmonirhat district, Court Police Inspector, District Detective-in-charge were present. Branch, Lalmonirhat, TI Admin, DIO-1, In-charge Dahgram Police Investigation Center, Lalmonirhat and other police officials. After the inauguration, an exchange meeting on beat policing and community policing was held at Patgram police station compound.
