78 species of birds caught on the camera of UNO Saikat Islam at Chatmohar

Where native birds are absent, European migratory birds such as the Taiga Chutki, the Blue-throated Fidda, are more difficult to spot. But 78 species of birds have been found in Chatmohar Upazila of Pabna. In the last 20 months, Chatmohar Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) said. These different species of birds have been caught on the camera of Saikat Islam. It is really surprising to see so many species of birds in an upazila like Chatmohar. He thinks that some more species of birds will be seen in the future. Saikat Islam joined Chatmohar as UNO on September 10, 2020. Before this he was working in Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner's office. After joining Chatmohar as a UNO, he was busy with office work, meetings, seminars, etc. Apart from this, he has to run from one union to another for some work. Photography is his favorite and hobby. So when he goes out to the countryside, he likes to take pictures in between work and duties. He especially likes to take pictures of birds. On November 27, 2020, Chatmohar took the first picture of the bird in the Upazila Parishad premises. That bird's name was Bhat Shalik. And lastly, on July 2, he took the picture of the 78th bird from Pashardanga village of the upazila. The name of this bird is Kalim. Among the bird pictures he has taken are rare birds like blue voice, water peafowl, Shah bulbul. Among the birds detected by UNO Saikat Islam's cameras, Bengal Babu, Desi Chandithon are rarely seen at present. Apart from this, Red Munia and Yellow-footed Harian birds have been seen in Chatmohar, but they have not been photographed yet. Two European migratory birds named Taiga Chutki and Blue-throated Fidda have been found in this upazila. Two birds were seen in Dakati's Vita area of ​​Dhulauri village last February. Notable birds found at Chatmohar include Blue-throated, Chokhgelo, Water Peacock, Blue Rajon, Amber Chutki, Katua Chil, Kamala Bou, Desi Babui, Hottie, White Khanjan, Shah Bulbuli, Mohanchura, Ban Char-e, Phatikjal, Bharata , Tila Munya, Asian Basant Bauri, Kamala Bau, Chokh Gela, Kabasi, Butcher Bird, Bhomra Choton, Metho Pet Papia, Saheli, Dahuk etc. UNO Saikat Islam said, after joining Chatmohar, I saw a lot of birds. Then it seems that the bird can be photographed. Recently found 78 species of birds. Most of these species of birds have been found in Chiril, Handyal, Nimaichra of Mathurapur Union and Dakatir Vita of Haripur Union. He also said, 'Chatmohar is an area surrounded by Chalanbil. There are many small ponds canals, bils, ponds, reservoirs. Along with that, there are many shrubs, forests, grasses, leaves, bots, pakurs, peaches and many fruit trees. Which are very suitable for birds to live and eat. That is why many species of birds have been found in Chatmohar Upazila. It is likely that many more species of birds will be found here in the coming days. About what can be done to protect the birds, this UNO said, here poison is applied in ponds, canals and to kill grass. Birds collect food from here. So the use of poison should be stopped. Otherwise the bird will die. Poaching of birds is much less than before. Awareness should be created among all. The fruit trees that are there should be kept. If you cut it, the bird's performance will decrease. There are many kinds of birds in Chatmohar, I think people will come from different parts of the country to see it. Ehsan Ali Biswas, president of Nature and Wildlife Conservation Community, a wildlife conservation organization in Pabna, said that Saikat Islam is a bird and environment lover even though he is an administrative official.
