In Dinajpur, there is a growing danger of flooding of low lying areas

Dinajpur Correspondent: The rain water coming down from the upper reaches with the rain is gradually increasing in almost all the rivers of Dinajpur. This is increasing the risk of overflowing the lowlands. The Atrai River flows just below the danger level between the three rivers. According to the Dinajpur Meteorological Office, 61 mm of rain has been recorded in Dinajpur in the last 24 hours. On the other hand, more than 200 rainfall has been recorded in the northern district of Panchagarh. Water Development Board officials said the Atrai River was in danger as the flow of water from the upstream hills increased with the rains. The danger level of Atrai river is 39.650 meters. In the afternoon, 39.120 meters of water was flowing near the danger line. The danger level in Poonarbhaba river is 33.5 hundred meters. The water is flowing at a depth of 30.60 meters. In addition, the flow of water in other small rivers including Kakra has increased and the banks are flowing closer. Rainwater and upstream floodwaters could submerge the lowlands at any time.
