The body of an unidentified youth was recovered from Ichhamati river on the Sharsha border in Jessore

Benapole Correspondent: Police have recovered the body of an unidentified youth from Ichhamati river in Goga border of Sharsha upazila of Jessore. Police recovered the body around 6:30 pm on Thursday (May 19). Locals said they first informed local UP chairman Tabibar Rahman when they saw a body floating in the Bangladesh part of the Ichhamati river on the border in the evening. He later informed the police and BGB. The police came and recovered the body. Sharsha Police Station SI Jamal Uddin said, "Through the chairman of the local Goga Union, we came to know that a body was floating in the Bangladesh part of Ichhamati river." A police team arrived and recovered the body. Subedar Saleh Ahmed, company commander of the Goga BGB camp, said the body was found floating in the middle of the river along Pillar No. 44 on the border, after which the BGB and police launched a rescue operation. The identity of the rescued body was not known till this report was written.
