News Desk: Saying that BNP has no problem with the Election Commission, the party's secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, "Our problem is with one issue, that is with the election government." Because if the Awami League government is in power then you can be sure that there will be no election.

He was speaking at a rally organized by the Bangladesh Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Welfare Front at the Nasrul Hamid Auditorium of the Dhaka Reporters' Unity on Sunday (February 26) at noon to protest the communal remarks of Keraniganj Model Police Station OC Abdus Salam and the attack on Nipun Roy Chowdhury.

Mirza Fakhrul said, "Again they (government) will hold elections in the same manner, we will see, we will not participate in those elections." Our only demand is that elections should be held under a caretaker or non-partisan government, not an election commission, not a search committee. This government must resign. A neutral election commission must be formed under a neutral government.

The BNP secretary general said that those who have been used for night voting, who have been identified internationally, are terrorists, human rights violators, you (government) have put them in high positions. Rallies have been held with his picture.

Mirza Fakhrul expressed his displeasure and said, "Sanction (prohibition) is not an honor for us, not a joy, it is a great shame." It is a shame for the whole nation. As we celebrate the golden jubilee of independence, this ban on one of our forces is a great shame. Because the government is using them in violation of human rights.

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, information secretary Azizul Bari Helal and co-religion secretary Jayant Kumar Kund addressed the rally under the chairmanship of former minister Gautam Chakraborty.
