Pabna District Awami League President Lal, Secretary Prince

Pabna Correspondent: After a long seven years, the Pabna District Awami League Committee has been announced for the next three years through a conference. Rezaul Rahim Lal, the current acting president and chairman of the district council, has been made the president. The current general secretary and Pabna Sadar-5 MP Golam Farooq Prince has been given the responsibility of the general secretary.

Their names were announced at the second session of the district Awami League's triennial conference at the Pabna Police Lines ground on Saturday (February 19) at 3pm. The committee was announced by Awami League presidium member Abdur Rahman on the instructions of Prime Minister and party president Sheikh Hasina. The committee has also been directed to complete it within the next one month.

Earlier, the conference was inaugurated by hoisting national and party flags at 11 am. Awami League presidium member Abdur Rahman inaugurated the function. Awami League general secretary and bridge minister Obaidul Quader spoke as the chief guest in a video conference from Dhaka.

Also present at the time were Awami League presidium member and Rajshahi City Corporation Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Awami League Joint-General Secretary and Information Minister Dr. Hassan Mahmud. Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak and others.

It is learned that on April 2, 2020, Pabna District Awami League President and Land Minister Bir Muktijoddha Shamsur Rahman Sharif Dilu passed away. After his death, Rezaul Rahim Lal, senior vice president of the district Awami League and chairman of the district council, was acting president.

According to district Awami League sources, the conference of Pabna district Awami League was held on December 20, 2014. Fifteen months after the conference, the central committee approved the 93-member district committee. It has a 25-member advisory council.
