Shakib's decade and a half on the international stage

Sports Desk: International cricket all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has spent a decade and a half or 15 years in international cricket. Exactly 15 years ago today, young Shakib wore the jersey of Bangladesh for the first time.

Sunday, August 6, 2006, at the Sports Club Ground in Harare, Zimbabwe. The country's most successful cricketer Shakib Al Hasan made his international debut against host Zimbabwe. Since then he has proved his ability and effectiveness many times.

In his debut match, Shakib took 1 wicket for 39 runs in 10 overs with the ball in hand. After playing an unbeaten innings of 30 runs off 49 balls with the bat, he took the team to the port of victory. Bangladesh got an easy victory of 6 wickets.

Today, exactly 15 years later, on August 6, Shakib will play in the jersey of Bangladesh. Opponent Australia, confirming the mission series. Shakib has done his job well with 72 runs and 2 wickets in the first two matches. Today, Bangladesh will be looking at Shakib in the mission to win the series by defeating Australia.

Shakib has so far played 56 Tests, 215 ODIs and 61 Twenty20 Internationals in his successful international career. Shakib scored 3933 runs in 5 centuries in Tests, 600 runs in 9 centuries in ODIs and 18 runs in T20s. He took 215 wickets in Tests, 26 in ODIs and 98 in T20s.

As the first and only cricketer in the world, Shakib has set a record of being the number one all-rounder in team format cricket. He has been dominating the all-rounder rankings for almost a decade. Shakib is still the top all-rounder in ODIs.
