Exchange of views and distribution of food items in Ishwarganj on the occasion of National Nutrition Week

Ishwarganj Correspondent: If you think about food, think about nutrition. Keeping this theme in mind, National Nutrition Week has been properly celebrated in Ishwarganj, Mymensingh. On this occasion, an online meeting of the Upazila Nutrition Committee was held on Sunday afternoon.

At the end of the meeting, health check-up of 35 heroic freedom fighters and nutritious food items were distributed among them on the initiative of Upazila Health Complex. It is learned that on the occasion of National Nutrition Week, the Department of Health has taken initiative of various programs throughout the country. As a continuation of this, as a first day program in the upazila, nutrition was promoted in various religious places of worship including mosques and local markets last Friday. On the second day of the program on Saturday, special advice on nutrition was given to children, teenagers and pregnant women and nutritious food was distributed among 35 of them. The nutritious food list consisted of 5 kg of high quality rice, 3 kg of potatoes, 1 kg of onion, 1 kg of salt, 500 gms of pulses, 500 gms of gram and half a liter of soybean oil.
