Laporta is the president of Barcelona again

Sports Desk: When he left the Nou Camp in 2010 after his first term, Barcelona was the best team in the world. For the second time, Juan Laportai is taking over the presidency of the club. Laporta won the Barcelona presidential election by a wide margin on Sunday. 55,611 members voted.

Laporta received 54.3 percent of the vote. His closest rival, Victor Font, received 30 percent of the vote, while Tony Freixer received 9 percent leading members of the team, including Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, took part in the 12-hour vote to elect a new board chairman.

Laporta led the club to enviable success in his first term as president of Barcelona. He was in charge for seven years in 2003, when Barsa became one of the best clubs in the world.

That was the golden age of Bara. Coaches like Pep Guardiola have acted. Andre Iniesta, Xavi, Lionel Messi have played under him. They set a benchmark.

Laporta's challenge in the second term will be more difficult. Barcelona is in debt, the club also needs to make major changes. Most importantly, the club's contract with the team's main star Messi is coming to an end next summer.

Laporta's biggest challenge will be to hold on to Messi. However, after winning, he said he would do whatever it takes to keep Messi at the club.
