Syed Amiruzzaman, Special Correspondent: A day-long training workshop of the Bangladesh Press Council was held in Moulvibazar on the topic of preventing misreporting in the media and presenting objective news.
The workshop was held on Saturday (September 13, 2025) at the Moulvibazar Circuit House Conference Room with the support of the district administration.
Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice AKM Abdul Hakim was the chief guest at the event, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Shahina Akhter. He said that misreporting destroys the credibility of the media.
Journalists must be responsible and present truthful and objective news to the public.
The resource person at the workshop was Press Council Secretary Md. Abdus Sabur. District Information Officer Md. Anwar Hossain delivered the welcome speech. Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Abul Khair was the special guest.
Journalists from various print and electronic media working in the district participated in the day-long workshop. The speakers emphasized the ethics of journalism, the importance of fact-checking, and presenting objective news.
