Staff Correspondent: The Saudi Arabia–Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SABCCI) has expressed deep concern over the growing uncertainty and insecurity surrounding Bangladeshi expatriate workers in Saudi Arabia, urging all concerned parties to pursue a peaceful and swift resolution to the situation.
‎
‎In a press release issued on October 14, SABCCI stated that the prevailing circumstances have raised concerns among Bangladeshi expatriates and could have adverse implications for employment, job security, and bilateral economic relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.
‎
‎The chamber noted that any prolonged disruption could affect the livelihoods of expatriate workers, their families in Bangladesh, and businesses dependent on stable bilateral cooperation. It also warned that uncertainty could have broader consequences for trade, investment, and economic engagement between the two countries.
‎
‎SABCCI emphasized the importance of carefully assessing the current situation and avoiding actions that could further complicate matters. It called for constructive dialogue, mutual understanding, and coordinated efforts to ensure the protection and well-being of Bangladeshi expatriates.
‎
‎The chamber urged the Government of Bangladesh, relevant authorities, and all stakeholders to take appropriate diplomatic and administrative measures to address the concerns of expatriate workers and safeguard their interests.
‎
‎Reaffirming its commitment to strengthening Saudi Arabia–Bangladesh relations, SABCCI stressed that peaceful engagement and effective cooperation are essential to resolving the challenges while preserving the longstanding friendship, commercial ties, and economic partnership between the two countries.
