Bristy–Limon murder in Florida was premeditated: Police

International Desk: The murders of Jamal Ahmed Limon and Nahida Sultana Bristy in Florida were premeditated, according to police. Authorities believe the two were killed at close range and around the same time near their Avalon Heights apartment.
These details were shared by the Hillsborough County Sheriff during a press conference on Friday (May 1). Earlier, police confirmed through DNA testing that the recovered body of missing student Bristy has been identified.
Limon’s body is expected to arrive in Dhaka on May 4 via Dubai, while the process of repatriating Bristy’s remains has already been initiated by the embassy.
The families of the missing students received the tragic confirmation after Bristy’s second body was recovered from near the Howard Frankland Bridge in Florida. Her identity was confirmed on Friday through forensic examination.
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister described the investigation as “horrific,” stating, “The actions of the offender are nothing short of pure evil. Unfortunately, we have lost two talented students.”
Following this, Florida police officially informed Bristy’s brother in Bangladesh. Investigators also matched CCTV footage of Bristy’s clothing with the recovered body.
Sheriff Chronister added that the investigation is ongoing and no final conclusions have been made yet, but all evidence suggests the victims were killed at close proximity and around the same time near the Avalon Heights apartment.
The incident has cast a deep shadow of mourning over Tampa. After the families demanded the swift repatriation of the bodies, the Bangladesh Embassy and the Bangladesh Consulate in Miami have jointly begun formal procedures.
Press Minister of the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, Golam Mortoza, confirmed that the process of sending Bristy’s body home has already started.
Meanwhile, the body of the other victim, Limon, will depart from Orlando Airport via a funeral home on Saturday night. It is expected to arrive in Dhaka on Monday (May 4) morning.
The roommate of the accused, Hisham, is currently in police custody. Members of the expatriate community are demanding the maximum punishment for those involved in the brutal double murder.
