​New protests have erupted against Donald Trump centered around the British King’s visit to the United States. For the past year, various protest programs have been held across the U.S. under the banner "No Kings," where protesters are attempting to portray President Trump as an ambitious king. This slogan is primarily being used to remind the public of the anti-monarchy foundations of the United States.
​In response to these allegations from protesters, Marc Lotter, a strategist for Trump’s 2020 election campaign, made a significant statement. He clearly stated that President Trump has never considered himself a king. According to Lotter, Trump harbors no such royal imagery, and there has never been any discussion regarding the establishment of a monarchy.
​Under the U.S. Constitution, Trump’s term of power is set to end in 2028. Lotter assured that Trump has no plans to remain in power beyond the constitutionally mandated time. He further added that the sight of both Democrats and Republicans standing together to give King Charles a warm standing ovation in the U.S. Congress is something rarely seen.
​Lotter also remarked that, in the current political climate, such a rare display of unity between the two parties would not have been possible on any issue other than a royal visit.
