Banned BCL leader accused of attack on Khaleda Zia's convoy got bail

News desk: The court has granted bail to banned Central Chhatra League leader Lovelu Mollah Shishir in the case related to the attack on the convoy of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. 

On Sunday (April 26) a court in Dhaka gave this bail order.

According to the source of the case, during the election campaign on April 20, 2015, the accused attacked the party's chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in a road meeting organized in front of the BNP office in Paltan with weapons. Meanwhile, they vandalized 12 to 14 vehicles of Khaleda Zia's convoy, set fire to four motorcycles and beat up the activists. Khaleda Zia's security guards were injured in this attack. 

Pedestrians were also injured when the accused threw bricks and stones at Khaleda Zia. 200 to 300 activists of Awami League-led 14-party coalition and its affiliated organizations carried out cocktail explosions with indigenous weapons. During the attack, the accused snatched valuables and forcibly detained them and demanded ransom.
