The government does not acknowledge the crisis in Parliament: Hasnat Abdullah

News Desk: Hasnat Abdullah, MP and chief organiser of the southern region of the NCP, has said that the government does not acknowledge any crisis in the country. Despite ongoing issues in electricity, fuel, and other sectors, these are not reflected in the government’s statements. In Parliament, they claim that there is sufficient oil, electricity, and all types of fuel, and that everything is adequate. However, the reality is different. “I stood in Parliament and asked—do you admit that there is a crisis or not?” he said.

He made these remarks on Friday afternoon while distributing candles among the public in the Rasulpur area of Debidwar upazila in Cumilla.

Hasnat said that since the government does not acknowledge the crisis and there are frequent power outages throughout the day, they are distributing candles to people. “We understand the suffering of the people, and that is why we have come to offer some comfort,” he added.

He further stated that it was the government’s responsibility to recognise and resolve these hardships faced by the public. However, they are unwilling to accept the reality and are failing to meet the ongoing expectations and needs of the people.

On the day, Hasnat Abdullah distributed candles among more than a hundred families. Local NCP leaders were also present with him during the event.
