News desk:Prime Minister Tariq Rahman has ordered the launch of 'e-health' card to ensure medical services for the people.
The head of government gave this directive in a meeting with the health minister, state minister, advisers and health experts at the Prime Minister's Office at the secretariat on Wednesday (March 4) afternoon.
Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon gave this information.
Rumon said that the Prime Minister has given proper instructions to the Health Minister to start the work of e-Health Card. The policy of the government is to bring medical services to the doorsteps of the people. The Prime Minister has ordered the ministry to be more active in this regard.
He said, in the meeting, there was also a discussion about identifying the abandoned buildings of various government ministries and organizations and taking them under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and making them health centers.
Rumon said that only LGED has 170 abandoned buildings. The Prime Minister said that the abandoned buildings belonging to the government and various institutions under it should be developed as clinics and medical centers. He gave the necessary instructions to the ministry in this regard.
In the meeting Health Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain, State Minister MA Muhith and senior government officials were present.
