The government has sought energy assistance from the US: Energy Minister

News Desk: Due to the conflict between US-Israel and Iran in the Middle East, there is an energy crisis all over the world. Shipments of earlier commitments for imports into the country have been stopped. Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, the Minister of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources said that the assistance of the United States has been sought to deal with this crisis.

He said this to reporters after a meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Affairs Paul Kapoor at the Secretariat on Wednesday (March 4) afternoon. The energy minister said that the United States will talk about this at the highest level of their government.

Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku said about the fuel reserves, instructions have been given on how to save and use the stored fuel. Efforts are also being made to bring fuel from all places. It will last until March with stored fuel. He expressed fear that there may be a crisis till the time of Eid.

Assuring that there will be no unbearable power shortage, the Energy Minister said, everyone should be aware of stopping the wastage of electricity.
