Writ in High Court challenging validity of appointment of 6 City Administrators

News Desk: A writ has been filed in the High Court challenging the validity of the appointment of six full-time administrators in six city corporations of the country, including Dhaka North and South.

‎Wednesday (March 4) six lawyers of the Supreme Court wrote a writ. They are - Golam Kibria, Zillur Rahman, Abu Dawood Nizami, Al Muttaki Billah, Ismail Hossain Sabuj and Khalid Saifullah. In the writ, the local government secretary and the election commission have been made defendants.

Before this, six full-time administrators were appointed in six city corporations of the country, including Dhaka North-South, on February 22. Local Government Department (City Corporation-1 Branch) of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives has issued a notification for the recruitment of six administrators. According to the notification, the six administrators who have been appointed in the six city corporations are - Dhaka South City Corporation. Abdus Salam, Dhaka North City Corporation. Shafiqul Islam Khan, Nazrul Islam Manju in Khulna City Corporation, Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury in Sylhet City Corporation, Narayanganj City Corporation. Sakhawat Hossain Khan, Gazipur City Corporation.
